The M Fellowship is an invitation-only intellectual community now being established.

M Fellows are recognized for lives and work marked by intellectual honesty, disciplined inquiry, independence of thought, sound judgment, and enduring contribution within one or more of Think First’s fifteen Fields of Inquiry.

The Fellowship is not an awards program, celebrity roster, networking organization, management team, or automatic advisory board.

It exists to recognize and sustain a tradition of consequential inquiry.

M Fellows may contribute to the intellectual life of the Think First initiative through scholarship, conversation, mentorship, collaboration, or public inquiry. Participation is voluntary and will vary according to each Fellow’s interests and availability.

Fellows strengthen the community not through ideological agreement, but through intellectual independence and a shared commitment to evidence, careful reasoning, openness to correction, and the continuing pursuit of truth.

Appointment as an M Fellow does not imply agreement with every conclusion of Think First. Nor does the appointment imply that Think First endorses every position, affiliation, publication, or conclusion associated with a Fellow.

The M Fellowship is a lifetime appointment recognizing an enduring contribution to humanity’s pursuit of truth, understanding, and sound judgment.

The appointment reflects the conviction that consequential inquiry is not confined to a single achievement, office, or season of life. It recognizes the governing idea and intellectual practice a person has advanced across a lifetime of work.

Participation is entirely voluntary. Some Fellows may contribute through scholarship, conversation, mentorship, or collaboration. Others may simply remain part of the Fellowship community. In every case, the appointment establishes an enduring relationship with Think First and its purpose of strengthening human discernment across generations.

A Fellow who retires from active participation may be recognized as an M Fellow Emeritus while retaining the honor and enduring association of the appointment.

The designation recognizes a relationship to an intellectual tradition larger than any individual and a conversation that extends beyond any single generation.

The Fellowship carries the M designation because it belongs to the selective intellectual architecture through which Think First carries its purpose into practice.

Think First is the public principle.

M identifies the people, systems, methods, and bodies of knowledge entrusted with advancing that principle through disciplined inquiry and intellectual stewardship.

An M Fellow therefore signifies more than affiliation with Think First. It recognizes a life and body of work that demonstrate evidentiary responsibility, intellectual humility, calibrated uncertainty, openness to correction, independence of thought, and human responsibility for judgment.

The designation does not imply agreement with Think First or endorsement of every conclusion a Fellow has reached. M signifies not a prescribed set of beliefs, but a standard and tradition of inquiry.

An M Fellow is recognized not merely for achievement, reputation, or influence, but for an enduring contribution to humanity’s pursuit of knowledge, understanding, and sound judgment.

Think First welcomes broad participation in the practice of discernment. The M Fellowship recognizes individuals whose lives have advanced it.
